LG G2 Users See Android Update on Verizon Wireless Network
For those of you that have the LG G2 on the Verizon Wireless network you might have noticed that there was an update sent out, but at the same time noticed that it was not the Android 4.4 KitKat update that you were hoping for. The Android 4.4 KitKat update for the LG G2 is one that is almost complete on the rest of the mobile carriers in the United States, but for some reason it looks like Verizon Wireless customers are left behind at this time.
Even though some are still waiting to see the Android 4.4 KitKat update on their device, customers on one network have been getting an update notification for a second update on the LG G2. The update, which is actually Android 4.4.2 KitKat, brings a couple of bug fixes and has reportedly started to roll out to users. The update for those on the AT&T network reportedly brings a few bug fixes and improvements, but did leave out the Google Tap & Pay feature. The changelog does include updates to Google+ and Google Wallet, however. The update is a very small 6MB in size and should not take that long to download and install.
For those of you that are still on the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean software, the upgrade to Android 4.4 is going to be closer to 700MB in size. With that being said, a connection to a Wi-Fi network is recommended for that download process. If you are wondering what software you are running, you can see that from the Settings Menu > About Phone > Check for Updates to see if your device is ready to be updated. Updates seem to be pouring in for the LG G2 users that are not on the Verizon Wireless network.
The LG G2 is one smartphone that might have given LG the go-ahead confidence to gain some market share back after losing it due to releasing mostly mid-range devices on the market. The LG G2 features a huge 5.2-inch touch screen display that comes with a full HD 1080p resolution and scratch-resistant glass for extra protection. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 800 processor from Qualcomm, 2GB of RAM and comes without a microSD card slot to expand on the 32GB of internal memory. The back side features a 13MP camera that can record in full 1080p HD at 60 frames per second.
